Now that we have the collected Tales of the Nightside available (which contained many shorts I had not read before), I'm curious what folks feel is their favorite short story or opening case (which is veritably a short story in itself)? For me, I love the opening case from Nightingale's Lament, "The Hanged Man's Beautiful Daughter". I'm a sucker for a love story, and even though Taylor blows up Prometeus Inc in the process, the whole thing wraps up in a marvelous way. Very well written as always!
Close runners up are Razor Eddie's Big Day Out, and the opening case in Hex and the City about the auction of the Chaos Butterfly.

I liked the Ball of Forever in the Bride Wore Black Leather.
