If this series ever gets made into a TV or movie series, there is only one person I have ever viewed as being right for the part of Eddie Drood in my mind, since book one. Especially given all the Doctor Who references thoughout the Nightside series:

Christopher Eccleston

The Armourer: John Noble http://www.blastr.com/sites/blastr/file ... alterZ.jpg

Old Jacob: Jeff Bridges

Younger Jacob: Nicholas Hoult

This would be more aimed towards a movie though.

That dude that played the demon in Bloody Mallory should TOTALLY play Roger!

Physically I always imagine Eddie as a younger Stephen Rea, but maybe that's because the cover art always has him with dark curly hair. I could see John Noble as the librarian William however.

I'm curious who Hilde sees as Harry Drood, maybe Jude Law?

I'm not sure actually. I had never really thought about it but ok I'll give it a go:

Eddie Drood/Shaman Bond: I'm actually inclined to agree with James McAvoy but I think that Ben Barnes would probably be really excellent as well.

Molly Metcalf: Lily Cole

Jack Drood the armourer: either Christopher Lloyd or Tom Baker

The Matriarch: TOTALLY agreeing with the suggestion of Judi Dench

James Drood: Gary Oldman

Harry Drood: I'm kind of partial towards Zacchary Quinto because he plays that kind of character so well.

Roger Morningstar: Julien Boisselier, just watch Bloody Mallory and you'll get why. And you'll get all the references to that movie in at least two Secret History novels as well ;)
My other choice would definitely be Simon Baker.

Callan Drood: Scott Caan

Isabelle Metcalf: Jennifer Lawrence

Louise Metcalf: Mia Wasikowska

Jacob the family ghost: James Woods

William Drood the librarian: John Noble (let's face it, he's proven he does crazy old coot brilliantly, lets all take a moment to fondly remember Walter the mad scientist of Fringe!)

Ohh good call on Ben Barnes! I hadn't thought of him before, but now that I picture it he would be perfect!

Lily Cole seems awfully baby faced for Molly Metcalf however. I always envision Molly as more traveled and world worn (especially with her boasts about visiting Heaven, Hell, and everything in between), so while not older but definitely more mature. Maybe a younger Alex Kingston, like from her ER days?

Good call on Ben Barnes, his current photo on IMBD gives him the dark look i'd associate with Eddies darker side when he has to become an assassin rather than an agent.

Lily cole, nice on the eyes but I don't think she'd make a good molly, maybe Karen Gillian?

Ben Barnes would be an excellent choice for Eddie.
