Blurb from Amazon (US Amazon / UK Amazon):
Quote:
Meet the operatives of the Carnacki Institute—JC Chance: the team leader, brave, charming, and almost unbearably arrogant; Melody Chambers: the science geek who keeps the antisupernatural equipment running; and Happy Jack Palmer: the terminally gloomy telepath. Their mission: Do Something About Ghosts. Lay them to rest, send them packing, or just kick their nasty ectoplasmic arses…

Their latest assignment takes JC and the team to a small country village, site of a famously haunted inn. At first, JC thinks that the spirits in the King’s Arms are more the stuff of urban legend than anything that needs the Ghost Finders’ expertise. Then one story rings true: the tale of a traveler trapped by an unusual thunderstorm who retired to her room for the night—and vanished.

Trapped by an unusual thunderstorm—like the one that begins raging outside shortly after they arrive…

As the team investigates, they are forced, one by one, to face some hard truths about themselves, their relationships, and the haunting itself—truths that may push Happy Jack over the edge into the madness that he has always feared...

Personally I'm hoping we see a resolution to the Kim storyline, I didn't like how JC was behaving in the last novel without her. Other than that, sounds like a suitably spooky story! Anyone else hoping for a passing reference to the crew from the "Judas Ghost" movie so we can tie it into the same universe? :D

I'm still only reading Ghost Finders for the clues to the metaplot that ties Nightside, Secret Histories and Ghost Finders to be honest.
So not my fav series X_x

But yeah, I hope to see a conclusion to the Kim story arc as well, I keep on hoping for a repeat of events from A Hard Day's Night (trying to keep this spoiler free) because I'm a sucker for a happy ending :)

Of the five series I agree that Ghost Finders is my "least favorite", but that's a relative comparison. It's still an enjoyable series, especially since the Nightside has stopped primary publication.

That said, I like that SRG is writing an ensemble cast in these books instead of just a single main character. To me this also shows in his development of the Secret Histories books as well, since as of "For Heavens Eyes Only" Molly has been a steady presence by Eddie's side, and not just a "sometimes" character like in previous books, similar to how Suzie Shooter was in the Nightside novels.

Or maybe I just need to read the Hawk & Fisher books again!

I just don't like ghosts to be honest, that's my main issue with it.

Can someone explain to me why on amazon.com the kindle version is more expensive than the actual book?
Sense, it makes none!

You could ask the same why people in Australia pay nearly twice as much for digital downloads of software than the rest of the world. The answer? Corporate greed.

Amazon usual sets the price of the physical books similar to other retailers, but the digital versions are usually set by the Publisher. Example in the above Amazon US link for the Kindle version:
Quote:
Kindle Price: $7.59 includes free wireless delivery via Amazon Whispernet
Sold by: Penguin Group (USA) LLC
This price was set by the publisher

Corporate greed.

I'd like to know when an audiobook version will come out. For instance, Casino Infernale's audiobook just came out earlier this month. Why the wait?

The people doing the audio version don't get the books much sooner than the street date.
They then have to produce the scripts, book studio time and get the recording made, edited, packaged and out...

Recorded Books does the audiobooks for the Secret Histories and Ghostfinders series, and in my experience they are usually a couple months behind the book release. For comparison, Audible Inc did the Nightside audiobooks, and they always came out the same day as the novel. Graphic Audio is all over the place, but I don't believe they are doing any SRG novels right now.
