I wish that there was a book that collected all of Simon R. Green's short stories, because some of the older anthologies and magazines are quite expensive.

Here is a list of the short stories.

Soulhunter (Publication date unknown), Fantasy Macabre 3
Awake, Awake, Ye Northern Winds (1979), Swords Against Darkness V
In the Labyrinth (winter 1983), Fantasy Tales, v6 #12
Death is a Lady (1997), Dancing with the Dark
Richard Evans - Remembered (January 1998), The Alien Has Landed #5
Manslayer (2000),Swords Against the Millennium
The Nightside, Needless to Say (October 2004), Powers Of Detection
Razor Eddie’s Big Night Out (July 2006), Cemetery Dance #55
Lucy, at Christmastime (October 2008), Wolfsbane and Mistletoe
Appetite for Murder (December 2008), Unusual Suspects
The Difference A Day Makes (January 2009), Mean Streets
Some of These Cons go Way Back (June, 2009), Cemetery Dance, Number 60

A book of shorts will come.

There aren't enough story's (yet).

The publication that first carries a story has it for the first 2 years and therefore it can't be republished.

There maybe something in 2011/12.

There be something in the news section when a deals in place.

Does anyone know which series each of these short stories is for? I have read Mean Streets and this is where I first came across Simon's work. Some of the titles are clear as to which series the stories are for but others are not.

Not all of them are part of any series.

For example, the list on post 1.
Everything from 'The Nightside, Needless to Say' is a Nightside story. Everything above is a stand alone story.

The character's from 'Awake, Awake, Ye Northern Winds' (long out of print) will be returning in 'Pit of Despair' which is a limited edition hardback out towards the end of this year.

Thanks,

That explains why I can't find clear information on which series some of the short stories belong to.

Still waiting for some of the longer contracts to expire... All I can say is 'soon' and add to that the publisher has to have a will to produce one (that's the hard bit in the current climate).

Any chance it will include Richard Evans, Remembered?

Appears to be impossible to get hold of, due to being printed in an amusingly small Waterstones mag.

Most annoyed in that I probably picked it up at the time, but didn't know SRG's work.

Also, how about an ebook only release - no faff with contracts and so on, and no splitting the sweet sweet money, if you're struggling with a publisher? Hell, I'd put it together myself in order to read a couple of hard to get stories.

I'll contact Simon agent and see if he's able to assemble an ebook collection.

I'll let you all know what happens.

Right, after a bit of toing and froing...

There's a good chance there'll be a collection in book form next year. Simon's agent is waiting for a batch of contracts to expire so the stories can be reprinted. That's most of the modern one's.

He's also open to producing an ebook of much older 'stuff'

I was just talking to Simon while he was digging through his 'file' (and I use that word in it's loosest form!).

There a story he's forgotten about printed in the BSFA mag for 1987 and some there from that era !
What he can't find is Richard Evans, Remembered? He was never sent a copy of the mag and (at the moment) the MS is no where to be found. . .

This is something we're going to have to work on. . . more later.
