I checked the news section and found this:
"Forthcoming books include my pirate novella for PS Publishing; The Pit Of Despair."
Any info about this book?

Simon was talking to Pete Crowther of PS at last years British Fantasycon (while getting very, very drunk in the bar and singing pirate songs!) and it turns out that they both like pirate story's.

Pete had a collection in the works and asked Simon if he'd like to contribute something.

No idea yet on the title of the collection, but they'll be something on the announcements and news sections when its due and a link to PS so you can order it if you want to.

I've no info at present on who else is contributing, but I'll post that (and a title list) when I have it.

PS Publishing produce high quality, low volume works. So this will be a hardback when it arrives.

If I've missed anything let me know and I'll try to find out...

Thanks for the information! This anthology sounds promising, although I prefer novels. But I can't even imagine what creatures from the depths might come in a story by Mr. Green... after all, look what happened to the poor Underground in "Ghost of a chance"! :o

A bit of clarification.

I may have misunderstood this or it may have been explained badly to me !

This isn't part of a collection. Its a stand alone hardback. its 30,000+ words and it has the characters from Awake Awake in their first story since the 70's.

If it's successful PS intend to to 2 more and then (again if successful) they'll do a mass market paperback collection with all 3 story's.

Sorry for the duff info below, I promise to try harder !

So it is a book, not a part of collection? Even better! 8-)

And more info trickles out. . .

Simon's heard from Pete at PS that 'Pit' will be out in Oct next year.

I'll post a link to the page on the PS Publishing site when the title goes live.

It'll be a limited edition hard back, no price at the moment.

An update from PS on Pit of Despair.

Due to a few problems at PS, Pit will now not see the light of day until April/May 2012.

I'll post more info and a link in the Announcements when it goes up on the PS site.

Well I'm all in for a pirate story :)
And hopefully they'll release it for kindle too because generally stores charge an arm and a leg for a hardcover book :(
Not to mention the fact that I simply don't have room to put more books, I've had to clear out 3 shelves of stuff just so my husband has some extra room for his (he has antique books, therefore he gets dibs on shelfspace!).

PS aren't big on E formats I'm afraid.

They're a small, high quality press.

The book will be limited edition hardback (I think!).

And will be available either signed or not.

Oh, and it will be only available from PS I think.
