So with the thought of Night Falls on the horizon, and the promise of "every character - yes, that one too", let's speculate on who would win in a grand melee / royal rumble / winner-takes-all slugfest. No teams, no alliances. 10 enter, 1 walks away.

I put some canon limitations to try and identify the character's scope of power. For example, Owen and Hazel have basically transcended human limitations by the end of Deathstalker Coda, but at the end of Deathstalker War they've gone through the Madness Maze but only have one or two powers, so "superhuman" but not "godlike".

Same with John Taylor - give him the pocket watch after "The Good, The Bad and the Uncanny" and he'd be particularly dangerous, but without it he was much more clever. Eddie Drood after "For Heaven's Eyes Only" had his heart returned by Molly, so he's no longer really unkillable. And I put Finlay in there because I like a Batman-style underdog.

And as much as I like the Ghostfinders crew, they would be really outclassed here, so I've kindly left them out. Yes, even Happy. I wanted to put the eponymous "Walking Man" but I'm limited to 10 options. So feel free to choose someone else and write him in after.

Get ready.... FIGHT!

I'll start things off: Eddie Drood.

Or the "Adrian Saint" Walking Man.

Eddie's gone toe-to-toe with gods and monsters many times, and won through dirty tricks and knowing the right plays to make. He's outsmarted Hadleigh Oblivion (who'd probably be my second or third choice), and if equipped with the right gadgets and weapons from the Drood Armourer I feel he could comfortably throw down with heavy hitters like John Taylor and Hawk/Fisher.

Knowing Owen is a direct descendant of the Drood family would be an interesting challenge to solve. However, since the armour grants nigh-invulnerability to damage, Owen's Boost wouldn't really provide much benefit over it.

The only fight I couldn't comfortably call would be against Molly. In "The Man with the Golden Torc" he talks about having fought her to a standstill several times in the past. However, that's when he was operating "as an agent, not an assassin". If he goes for the throat he could probably take her.

That said I'm going to call my fellow poster's choices:
Luc: Owen Deathstalker
Hilde: Hadleigh Oblivion (duh)
smaug: Probably Hawk
Steve: ... you know I'm not really sure
Darth Sparhawk: Probably Eddie or Molly

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I voted John Taylor.
Because he can use his gift (also in the presence of Hadleigh) and find the weak spot needed to take out his oponent.
So that means he could take out anyone else in that list.
In theory at least.

Now, here's a question up there with 'which is better X Box or Playstaion' or 'VHS vs Beta'!

I think you might have to think out side the box.

What about the Lord of Thorns? Anyone that can rip the wings off angles isn't someone you want to mess with?

What about Old Father Time? mess with him and he's just erase you from the timeline (which is why no one can remember anyone ever going up against him ).

And if you want, what about the Traveling Dr? No one has ever got the better of him.

Nah wasn't going so far as to list every major player or character, just the main ones that the series have focused on: Owen and Hazel, Hawk and Fisher, etc. Plus a couple of ringers like Finlay and Hadleigh.

Oh, and BETA OF COURSE! It was technologically superior to VHS, if only Sony hadn't gotten involved... :ugeek:

BUT the Lord of Thorns can be broken, and Hadleigh knows how. And John knows there is a way. So either of them could still take him out :P

And why am I not surprised that hedge picture showed up :P
