I seem to have been on an urban fantasy kick lately. I picked up this recommendation off Goodreads based on my reads from Simon Green and such. The story takes place in modern times following a sorcerer named Nathan Garrett, who lost his memories 10 years ago, but finds his past catching up with him faster than he expected. The mythology behind the plot invokes both Arthurian and Ancient Greek, so I enjoyed reading the lore as well as the current story.

Plenty of character, a decent amount of action, and lots of fantasy elements combined into this tale from first time author Steve McHugh. My only complaint about the book (if you could call it a complaint) is that it wasn't "English" enough. The story supposedly takes place in London, but very few landmarks were invoked, and the dialect didn't have any English slang that I'd grown used to from reading authors like SRG and Ben Aaronovitch. There's two out currently with a third a few months away, both available on Kindle and rather cheap at that, so worth looking at if you're bored and want another urban fantasy novel to tide you over until the next Secret Histories book.
