If you've not got it yet (if not? Why not?)

(trying not to spoil) I am looking forward to the book, but I'm a little disappointed to hear that the twist at the end of the last novel is resolved so quickly in the next.

That was a confusing review, did they even read the book? "Shaman Eddie Drood", "spoof of the James Bond adventure/suspense genre", and "uncannily sensible wife"? I think Molly would turn someone into a toad for calling her sensible...

The second review is not very well written. However, I am very satisfied with the book. 8-)

Yes... I was sent the link and posted it before reading the review.

Not sure they've read the same book the rest of us have! Theirs seems to have fallen through a rift in spacetime from a parallel dimension. . .

In fairness to the (second) review, Secret Histories is somewhat derivative of James Bond.

You have 'Shaman Bond' for James Bond, the a. And all the book titles are plays on the titles of Fleming's books. (Next book title: 'Live and Let Drood'?)

To someone unfamiliar with Simon's work, this could easily be seen as a spoof, satire and/or parody.

That said, the review does sound like someone just read the synopsis and wiki information about it.
(I've yet to read the book, but could probably have written that review with the info available online.)
