Simon R. Green is only the second British author ever to win the award, after J.K. Rowling in 2007. This year, he won the Award against four other different nominees, including Michael Scott, James Rollins, Cassandra Clare and Brandon Sanderson, all covering different and distinct branches of the fantasy genre. It has to be noted, that the Award of Mr. Green came after a crushing advantage in the vote, as he won 133 points (the system of our club is with points scoring), next to 75 for the runner-up. The Intl Hit Award came after a much closer vote, which IMO makes a victory all the more sweeter.
