Just had this from Simon's agent...

Here are links for the Amazon US pages for the new Kindle editions of the other five books we have up and running.

http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Forest-King ... 88&sr=1-26

http://www.amazon.com/Among-Forest-King ... 88&sr=1-28

http://www.amazon.com/Hellworld-Deathst ... 88&sr=1-29

http://www.amazon.com/Mistworld-Deathst ... 88&sr=1-30

http://www.amazon.com/Ghostworld-Deaths ... 88&sr=1-31

All are also available on the UK Amazon site as well, you can click through from the search results here

I think that Kobo is the next format likely to go up, since we're almost ready with our vendor agreement with them. Best guess might be the first week in January.

Hi Steve

Are non-geo-restricted epubs anywhere in the near future?

Thanks,
Jehane

So much for the vaulted 'global market' eh...

I have no idea to be honest. Simon's agent is publishing them himself.

It'll be down to contracts operating in each area.

I will make a point to ask him next time we're talking.

Where in the world are you (not the US to be sure!)...

I just drop a quick email to Simon's agent and had this back;

'Insofar as Amazon is concerned, we've granted them rights to sell the books in all territories, so any Amazon site should have copies available. I know they are available on the UK Amazon site. Honestly, I don't know the mechanics with them of selling books in places where they don't have their own site like Australia, and will have to check on that. It is possible we may not be able to arrange for the books to be available in every last territory, since there are so many different permutations of who has which rights where that the simplest if not only thing to do is to be strict.'

Now I tried to buy one from Amazon UK this afternoon and couldn't, so I'm just about to mail him back and try to get the bottom of this. . .

Hi Steve

I'm in Australia. epub if possible - I don't have a Kindle. I like the Kobo store (usually epub format) so if there are going to be books there that would be perfect as long as they are available to Australia.

Thanks!

Hi Steve

I'm in South Africa and I'd like to get A Hard Day's Knight on my Kindle. Could you please find out when it will be available for the Africa region?

Thank you so much.
Odette

Hi Odette,

I'll try, but info is a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

I'll post more details when I can get them.

Oh man, I really hope I'll be able to buy Ghost of a Smile when it comes out on the 30th! Sometimes the amazon kindle store can get a bit iffy seeing I live in Belgium and then it makes me wait for ages 'till I'm able to buy a book.
*fingers crossed*

I'm trying to get some clarification on how the new ebooks are released.

On older titles its a matter of waiting for the print contacts to run out so new ones with an option for e versions can be produced.

The info I have from Simon's agent about Kindle editions is that Amazon will release all new versions and you should be able to get them from their site as long as you have an Amazon site in your country. I'm trying to find out what happens where you don't?

Has anyone tried using a US proxy site to get a Kindle version if you have no Amazon site in your area ??
