Hi my name is Karl I'm from Knoxville Tennessee in the states. I first read Simon R Green about 12yrs ago when I guess I was about 15. I started with Blue Moon Rising and had never read anything like it and was immediately hooked. After reading BMR I read Blood and Honor which is probably still my fav book. I enjoy most all of SRG's books. I have since read everything he as written with the exception of the two Ghost Finder books, the Robin Hood novelization and his short stories, the latter because I’m having a devil of a time actually finding them. One of my all time best Christmas presents was a signed copy of the British version of Deathstalker that my best friend had shipped over.

Hi Karl and welcome to the insanity here !!

MBR is a good starting point, not quite as 'hardcore' as some others (but they all tend to have their moments!).

Hope you have fun here.

Thank you, I don't know that I would describe any of his books as hardcore but then again I did grow up in the states with cable tv and lots of video games so I maybe desensitized as the American media in the past would have you believe. I do love how unique all of his char are espically the villians seem to be.

Welcome to Haven!

Nice to see a fellow fan of the sword-and-sorcery side of Simon.

I would probably agree with your opinion of Blood and Honour.

Hope to see you posting frequently.

Yeah, the short storiesare pretty hard to get hold of. The problem is a lot of them are out of print. I've managed to get hold of most of them (mainly because I'm a bit ocd abut complete collections-trying to avoid being an obsessive fan!). The trickiest one is the bizarre little magazine published by Waterstones. Given away for free back in the nineties, it's damn hard to source. The shorts seem to vary in quality more than the novels though. I've just read "It's all in the rendering" (anyone else read it?) And I found the ending to be a bit weak.
