Hello from snowy Toronto. I type this as it rains outside. I initially found out about SRG from reading a collection of short stories that included a JT tale. Loved it and decided to load up my Kindle with as many of the Nightside novels as I could find. They led me to the Secret Histories books and then the Ghost Finders. I love that they are all part of a shared universe and cross over with one another occasionally. I was a little surprised to find out that the Ghost Finders was the first of his series to be adapted (sort of since it's all original characters) for film but looking at it from a practical point of view it is probably the easiest one to pull off. The NS and SH books would need massive SFX to properly do them. Ghost Finders is a relatively straight forward horror type of story and would be much simpler to bring to film with a self contained story rather than the somewhat serialized elements of the NS and SH books.

Welcome aboard.

You haven't even got to the 'good stuff' yet.
