Seems the latest episode in Riddick's chronicle is on hold due to financial problems.

Anyone else a fan of Richard B. Riddick?

Eh.

I liked Pitch Black, Riddick was an interesting character in that film. But taking it from that survival-horror genre to the sci-fi/war file, not to mention the multiple video game tie ins, has left me not really caring much about the character. I know Vin Diesel has some sort of passion surrounding the series, but I'd much rather see his efforts focusing on something new.

I actually really like the second movie (in Director's Cut, of course).

It has the whole science fantasy thing going on, which I prefer to science fiction.

Same here. Classic scifi bores me, but add some swords and the Force and I am interested. On topic I liked both Riddick movies, they were fun and gritty :)

What did you think of the animated flick?

For shame!

The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407658/

It is a direct sequel to Pitch Black, and introduces the character of Toombs.

There are also the games, if you want to get fully into the Furyan legendarium. (I played a bit of Escape from Butcher Bay, but not really my style of game.)

Ah, now I remember it vaguely. But I haven't played the game.
