I was watching that trailer this morning and i'm looking forward to the new trilogy!!
Should be good...i'll take no risk and say that i'm going to enjoy it.

On the subject of changes from books to films i was listening to a few authors who made some interesting points about movie adaptations. One was Robert Crais who has refused to licence his Elvis Cole books because he doesn't want his fans to be disillusioned with films that won't match what their imagination conjures up from his writing.
Harlan Coben reckoned that it was akin to an author driving up to a producer with them being different sides of a fence. The producer throws over the money and the writer throws over the rights and they both drive off because the film will not be the book.
Then again Lee Child's Jack Reacher (described in the books as 6'5" and about 240lbs and the physical aspect of him is always important) is now going to be 5'7" Tom Cruise. now i love the books but if i go to see that film it won't be as a Jack reacher fan but a movie fan as i would be too disappointed if i went as a Reacher fan.

Less than a week until release. Anyone else already got seats booked?

I'm going on Saturday. Taking my youngest with me, so I wanted to make sure that I had half decent seats.

Managed to watch it today. Was good. A lot of changes from the source material, but that was to be expected.

Fans of the LotR movies should really enjoy this.

I got my seats okay yesterday.

It was fun, however I'm suggesting to the husband that he waits until all three are out on DVD before he bothers.

I think if you enjoy cinema go, but there is no hurry for DVD watching until you can see the full story.

Going for the third time this evening.

Really conflicted with it. I love the movie (Is better than Fellowship), but I dislike some of the changes they've made.

The score is superb.

I didn't like it - it was too noisy and chaotic for my taste.

I wasn't terribly keen on it either, it felt like they unnecessary kept the story going for the sake of wrangling three movies out of a thin book.
I'm also not pleased with the fact that they butchered the original storyline quite intensely.
Frankly halfway through I was well and truly bored with it.

That's me on the right when I get bored during a movie or TV show. It drives my wife absolutely bonkers if it's something she likes (like the Twilight movies), otherwise she becomes the one on the left.

Yep, we were two muppets during this movie, which had a surprisingly lack of muppets.
