Trailer for the forthcoming Riddick movie. He is one of my favourite cinematic characters, so I am really looking forward to this.

Didn't even know they were planning another!!!

The trailer looks good, although it makes it look a lot like Pitch Black (but I guess that's the point!).

It is lower budget than Chronicles, and the Pitch Black formula worked really well.

This and Hobbit 2 are the only movies I am excited about this year.

I watched this on Thursday.

It was great, loads of fun lines and pretty violence.

One thing that many may not like is that it was a lot like Pitch Black, but I thought that worked really well.

I'm really hoping they do another. Loads of story potential still left.

The Chronicles of Riddick movie question? Are you supposed to watch the movies Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury before watching The Chronicles of Riddick movie? Just curious, thanks!

I think I'm becoming bitter and jaded, because I see a question like this, a first post from a user that just registered yesterday that is unrelated to this board's primary topic, and my first thought is: "is this a spambot?"

Assuming it's a valid question (I remain speculative), the answer is "no", it provides some backstory but is not required. I never watched Dark Fury, but other than the backstory between Riddick, Jack and Imam, there's nothing in Pitch Black that you would need to know. That said, it's still a good movie and worth watching.

All the movies can be watched independently but, for the best experience and fullness of 'lore' watch them all, in order, with the director's cut editions where available.

There are also some games as well that I would love to see novelised, so I don't have to play them to get those bits of lore.

Yes, and we are waiting for the new episode because they have planned to release it this year. Otherwise, we will be satisfied with Triple X at the moment.
