Hmm. :|

I always feel hot and cold with Bryan Singer. On the one hand, I enjoyed the first X-Men movie, didn't like the next two, I liked his Superman Returns, and really enjoyed his reboot of X-Men: First Class. However, I see this and go... huh?

I was a comic book geek back in the 90's, with X-Men being one of my favorites. I read the graphic novel of the "Days of Future Past" storyarc way back when, and immediately felt that replacing Kitty Pryde with Wolverine was just another "let's put Hugh Jackman in the spotlight" move. Something that destroyed the second and third movie in my opinion, and makes me worry about this one.

Will I go see it? Most likely. If anything I want to encourage more comic book-to-film adaptations in hope we see more. I'll keep my fingers crossed to be on the safe side.

The very fact that Fox still holds the rights to X-Men means it will suck.

X-Men needs a reboot so they can be inserted into mainstream Marvel movie continuity.

That said, I am unimpressed with the latest Marvel movies, anyway, and think their entire universe could do with a reboot.

I've seen the trailer and was very unimpressed.
So I very much doubt I'll bother seeing it in the cinema.

I feel like this is an excuse to lob a bunch of popular characters in one film to cash in.
The first X-men movie was alright, I actually quite liked the second, but I utterly dispise the 3rd. Wolverine was alright (but I would have liked a proper Gambit), X-men First class I did enjoy.

Marvel superhero movies have been a total mixed bag in my opinion.
I really loved The Avengers and the first Iron Man movie. But I didn't like Iron Man 2 at all so didn't even bother seeing part 3.
Thor 1 was ok, and I _really_ liked Thor 2, even though it was too absurd for words.
I suppose I had the B-movie feeling with it, you know, where the movie is so bad it becomes good out of sheer entertainment value.

I am disappointed with the Marvel movie universe. The best film they have done, so far, is the most recent Spiderman and even that one had some major flaws.

I never even got 'round to seeing that one.
The only thing I remember from that is that SPYAIR did the theme song in Japan.
And the song was pretty good.

All I will say about Spiderman is that they keep making him way too old. Start him off aged 14.

They did make him that age in that Spiderman cartoon. The most recent one. It's from the Disney XD channel I think, I'm not sure what it's called.
They air it in dub on Belgian tv in the weekend so I've seen a few episodes fly by.
(weekdays are better when they air 90s X-men, Iron Man and Silver Surfer cartoons, amongst others of various states of watchable).

I think I'll just stick to the Thor/Avengers franchise. If only because Thor amuses me and Loki makes for a good villain/anti-hero. I just hope they won't start overusing him like they do Wolverine.

They should rename Thor 2 "Loki". It is blatantly his movie.

Personally, I think they need to pull all of the copyrights together and have a complete universe reboot. Write every single movie to be able to tie in, from Blade to Avengers.

Just ignore Howard the Duck.
