See I actaully had a different view on that. It seems like a lot of the shows I've enjoyed recently have had this issue, Heroes is a perfect example, it seems that they started out with too many plot devices ie sixers, the commanders son, and the family drama(this one seems to have worked itself for now) it reminds me of the old adage of spinning too many plates. Now I don't think that these should have necessarly been avoided I would have just preferred if they spread them out a bit.

Its a hard road to tread.
They need to shows there's mileage in the basic idea without overloading the viewer with 101 plot threads at the expense of not developing the cast in the first few shows.

I see from tv.com that twice as many people watched Two and Half Men!!! than watch Terra Nova. I'm surprised considering the hype they gave it.

2.5 men had more hype, when you think about it.

I don't (regularly) watch tv, and I still heard about the crap surrounding that sitcom.

One of the things about sitcoms as well though is they are designed to reach a wider audience where Sci-fi has always been more of a niche audience ie its easier to have a laugh track tell you when something's funny that try and comprehend what's going on in a deeper show.

That does really worry me. I don't want to see another Firefly happen because the word doesn't get out properly, granted Steven Spielberg's names attached to Terra Nova so hopefully it will have a good run and the writers won't be the ones to kill it.

Whilst it may worry you, how could anything have as much hype as 2.5 Men, this year? Charlie Sheen really helped the series, with his (vaguely) recent actions.

I still want to see more Firefly, for the record.

Joss is notorious for killing off characters.

I was always a fan of River. And Jayne.
