The new Dr will be revealed in a BBC program at 7 pm this Sunday (Aug 4th).

The program will also be broadcast at the same time in the US.

Anyone seen any speculation on the name??

Interesting they are making an event out of it, whereas they didn't with the last two actors. No real speculation here, my only worry is that they continue to make the Doctor "younger" as has been the trend for each successive actor. It could be pretty awesome if the Doctor was a woman in the next incarnation! :D

Give it a few regenerations and the Doctor will be still in school.

...Wait a minute, he is an alien who gets younger as he ages, yeah? Doesn't that mean he is Mork?

Well I'm refraining any comments about the new Doctor being this or that 'till I've actually seen the actor play the Doctor.
I've not seen enough of his acting so far to comment on his skill so I'll just pass and give him the benefit of the doubt :)

Just remember Peter Capaldi was already in Doctor Who, back in the 2008 episode taking place in Pompeii. He was the patriarch of the family that the 10th Doctor and Donna saved. That doesn't give me the warmest of fuzzies, but I'll keep an open mind.

Yeah I know. Karen Gillan was in that episode too.
