I'm not convinced that'd pull the role off.

I don't know, Luc. Would you argue with it ?

That is kind of my point. Owen (at least to begin with) is pretty unassuming. I'd argue with him (a short lived mistake...)

Well, despite being officially retired in 1996, the M551A1 was in service as late as 2003, so it's fairly possible that tank was named after the books. From what I understand, tankers are huge nerds, and it's not unlikely that some random science fiction reading tank commander named his tank after Owen.

While the M551 was certainly an improvement over the M41, it's acting ability could only be described as "mechanical". So no, I guess that despite the possibility of that tank being a direct descendant, it would be a poor choice to play the role.

The tank could have been named after the Roger Corman movie:

or the scorpion:

Yes yes yes, but my version is a lot more fun to think about.

I don't know, I quite enjoy thinking about Lana Clarkson, in that movie. ;)

The missus and I were talking about hypothetical casting of Deathstalker the other day (a favourite topic of idle chat of ours) and we came up with a couple interesting ideas:

Cary Elwes for Silence

Jason Momoa as Dram

Not ones that would normally have sprung to mind, but I could see them working really well.

Hmm not so sure, in my mind Captain Silence was a tall figure, broad of shoulder and a chiseled jaw (it's been awhile though - with my luck that will conflict with the actual character description). More like John Barrowman than Carey Elwes. Maybe a younger Elwes as Finlay Campbell?

Jason Momoa as Dram could be interesting. Casting Giles would need to take into account Momoa's features to try and find an older actor that could portray the relation.

Just had a thought, Brian Cox as Gregor Shreck? What about Marion Cotillard as Evangeline? I really liked her performance in Inception, although not as crazy in the last Batman movie.

For Gregor Shreck, was thinking Richard Griffiths.

Dram could take after his mother.
